Frequently asked questions

If you tell your friends about your Rain Forest Water System and they purchase a system you will receive a $50 check for each system purchased.

What about installation?

When you purchase a Rain Forest Water System you will receive a $100 rebate towards the installation of your system.

How long is the warranty?

Each system comes with a one year limited warranty.

Can I use this system if I have well water?

Our systems are a good option for those on well water or who get their water from lakes and reservoirs because it not only reduces sediments and chemicals but it eradicates bacteria and other microorganisms via UV light. However, our systems are designed to work after a water-softening unit is already in place.

What is hard water and can I use this system if I have hard water?

According to the Water Quality Association more than 60 percent of the earth's water is groundwater, it travels through rock and soil picking up minerals, including calcium and magnesium along the way. These two contaminants produce what is commonly referred to as "hardness" in water. Generally speaking, hardness is measured in grains per gallon (gpg).

The American Society of Agricultural Engineers and the U.S. Geological Survey have classified hard water as:

soft: 0-3.5 grains per gallon (gpg)

moderate: 3.5-7.0 gpg

hard: 7.0-10.5 gpg

very hard: over 10.5 gpg

Our systems are designed to work after a water-softening unit is already in place.

How long do the filters and UV light last?

There are many factors that determine how long your filters will last including your water conditions and usage. The best way to determine if you need to change your filters is to compare the pressure in the dual performance gauges available on all our systems. If the difference is greater than 10 psi it is time to change your filters. Your UV light should last for 8,000 continuous hours. It is recommended that you check your systems regularly.
